Board of Governors meeting 19/10/21

20th Oct 2021

Mrs Fiona Fearon presented an overview of the anti-bullying work being done at Dromintee PS to the Board of Governors. Since September, the Addressing the Bullying in Schools Act (NI) 2016, has been implemented, in line with the Department of Education advice. Mrs Fearon shared our anti-bullying policy proposals, our new school procedures and practises and all the work being done to promote an anti-bullying culture in our school. A selection of parents from P1-P7 were chosen to complete a questionnaire and the findings were shared with the Governors. Children’s responses were also analysed and all the consultative work will inform future planning and practice. The Governors commended Mrs Fearon for all the work being done pastorally with the children. They commented that the skills, attitudes, and abilities being fostered in Dromintee PS will empower the children with life skills. The new anti-bullying policy has been approved and is available on the school website for perusal. Anyone who wishes to have a copy, please telephone the school and we will send it home with your child.
