St Patrick’s Day Assembly

We start off our St Patrick’s Day assembly with a quiz onSt Patrick and some responses on why we are all wearing green today. Children proved to be very knowledgable about our patron saint. The Pastoral Care Team gave wristbands to everyone present.

The World Maths Day (10 million participants worldwide) awards for the 5 P7 pupils who were in the top 1,000 worldwide were given. The 5 boys got a pack of playing cards as a prize and a huge cheer and clap.

8 children who represented the school at a recent funeral were awarded with gift vouchers for representing the school so respectfully- Gracie, Finn, Tony, Daíthí, Logan, Eimer, Jude and Páraic.

The first round of the Cumann na mBunscol Malachy McGeeney tournament finished yesterday. The teams all got Starburst as they are all superstars. The girl’s coaches- Geraldine and Shauna- got medals.

The Daily Mile lucky dip winners were picked for the school trip to the Waterpark which the school won. The Eco team are going on 25th May together with 3 from P4, P5, P6 and 4 from P7.

The first ever Headteacher Awards were given to one child in P1 and 3 children in P3 who have all demonstrated kindness, caring, selflessness and embody the school’s motto- To Learn, To Love, To Enjoy, An Léann, An Grá, An Sult- Comhghairdeas, Congratulations to Kung, Mollie, Jayne and Cora. 
We finished our assembly with some prayers and a prayer to our Guardian Angel to keep us safe over the long weekend. We concluded with a song to St Patrick, ‘Hail Glorious Saint Patrick’.
