First PCT/ABA meeting of the year

18th Sep 2019

We had our first Pastoral Care Team/Anti-Bullying Ambassadors meeting of the school year today. We congratulated all our new members and welcomed back our remaining members from last year. We discussed the role of the PCT/ABA in Dromintee Primary School. We examined our designated patrol area weekly overview. We will be working in teams of 3 to patrol the P1-2 playground, P3-4 playground, P5-7 playground and check the ‘Worry Boxes’ daily.

Our members from last year trained our new team members on 'VIP'- the types of bullying which can be experienced; verbal, indirect and physical. They also recapped on the ‘Granny Rule,’ about posting comments on the internet and played the ‘it’s true of me’ game discussing similarities and differences.

The team  discussed plans for the year ahead, thinking of ways they could help in the P1/2 playground with our younger pupils. We also set the date for our first assembly to introduce ourselves to the whole school, which will be held on Friday 4th October. Finally, we took our group photograph wearing our yellow jackets, which will be displayed on the Pastoral Care Team noticeboard and throughout the school making pupils, staff and visitors aware of the team and our role.
