Santa drive through experience cheque presentation

18th Dec 2020

Santa came to school last Sunday and he was a big hit.  The children all loved their socially distanced chat with this very popular man.  The event was run by the Naíscoil Shliabh gCuilinn committee and was the brainchild of parent Patricia McGenity.  350 cars came to the drive-through experience.  Another parent wrote in today, ‘We really enjoyed the drive by Santa experience last weekend! We were very excited throughout the whole thing and loved the lights, the snow and Santa.  This spectacular show was a credit to the whole school community’.  Patricia McGenity presented a cheque for £710 to Mrs McKeown and Emer today.  Emer was an elf at the event and her brother was a Grinch who soaked all the waiting cars.    Also pictured is Damian McGenity, one of the organisers and a member of the Board of Governors at Dromintee Primary School.  The youngest children in the school – primaries one, two and three are going to benefit from the event – each receiving a third of the amount for new play resources and reading books.  Thank you to all the energetic and enthusiastic parents who developed and ran the event.
